I am a healthcare professional on an H-1B because I am not a nurse nor a PT so I don't fit into that elite Schedule A Club!
What categories are covered by health care professional? Which of these categories are Schedule A? Thanks.

I am preparing I131 (AP) renewal application for me and my family. For my son, who is 8 years old, do I need to fill "Part 9. Signature of Person preparing the form, if other than the applicant" since I am preparing this form? OR can I just sign Part 8 on-behalf of my son?
G-28 form says it needs to be filled in case if you use Attorney or Representative. Just wondering whether I need to fill a G-28 form for the above AP renewal application for my son since I am filling Part 9 in his application.
Can somebody clarify? Thanks for your help.
I don't know if you are filing online then I am sure that you don't have to go through all these hassles. I filed two times for all of us online and I got AP in 3 months both times.

Now thats unfair .... you are just using one part of the quote to distort the entire post ... The discussion and context of that statement was always on categories.... and was using that sentence as an example on categories...
The assumption was that readers would understand categories over individual qualifications/countries of origin in this context
If you destroy the context in which a statement is made it makes the entire post "look" bad and is disingenuous
Here is my entire post
"It does make sense that the overflow numbers are given to higher preference categories in single state oversubscribed countries. When you think about it, will that not be the most beneficial to United States? Who would you prefer .... and Unskilled professional from a ROW category or a skilled worker from an Oversubscribed country. I would gather it would make more sense to give the opportunity to the higher skilled since the benefit to US will be higher"
Your arugment would hold if there were no country limits.

I am with you buddy, but u have to understand
1. AILF will not file such case as they dont have big numbers of people supporting it as plaintiff
2. Your reasons are justified but you forgot one thing: US govt agencies (whether it is USCIS, DOS or DOL) treat immigrants as with the principle "beggars are not choosers", so per them you as an individual and your feelings doesnt matter much
3. Try to think positively, even though everyone will file 485 now but come Oct and if your labor is approved by that time you will be much ahead of everyone and you will not loose your place in the line. I am sure u will get GC approval before most of the July filers
Stay positive, stay calm. May God bless you!!
Again, sorry to say, but you are looking for excuses. I am looking for reasons. I know there are enough people out there to support this case. It is a simple matter of people spreading the word and jumping into the bandwagon.
I don't care whether they consider us as beggers or kings or whatever. It doesn't matter to me. It is a justified case and we have to put up a fight.
So please don't give excuses. That is not what I am looking for here. We might have a 1000 excuses for not filing a case, but only one reason to file it. We want justice. This can't go unheard or unnoticed.

So you again ignited the thread once again that it had died. You have only two posts and that too only on this thread. That only shows that your only objective is to start infighting.
I don't care where you are from but where you belong is very much true .. at least not on this planet. You can go back to Mars or wherever you come from..
Admins - Please take a look at this thread and lock it if possible. All these posts by Martiansoldier do not contribute anything at all to this thread .

Thumb-up for the DC Rally! I think our efforts will be long-term. We got to get the idea across to as many people as possible. Rally is powerful, but we also need to use other types of campaign--big or small to get our voice heard.
One idea my American friend shared with me was to make presentations at retirement centers or community centers/ events. We need to be visible and our contribution to the country made known.
Wonderlust
Hello guys!
I wanted to volunteer a thought that had been in my head, so I am basically thinking out loud here for a bit, just throwing this out there for your guidance, tell me if you think this is too aggressive, or even premature?
I think we need another rally before the end of the year. There are 2 reasons:
1- Presidential campaigns: After this Fall, presidential campaigns will be in full swing, and thus commanding all the attention of Congress, the media and the American public.
2- Memory: People's memories are short. Now that we have the attention of the media and Capitol Hill, wouldn't it make sense that this is the time to redouble our efforts and push harder? If we wait, the iron might just cool off.
Having said that, and as we know, a rally means a lot of money, a lot of work, a lot of dedication to organize. Yet, no one said our struggle was easy, and other people and groups who have gone through tough struggles have had to go through extraordinary lengths to achieve their goals.
So, if we were to hypothetically hold a second rally this Fall, we could go for the "low-hanging fruit", i.e. we can hold the rally where the most of us live, such as Silicon Valley (and we know those folks really come through), we can plan to reach attendance to this event in the tens of thousands. I know we might not have enough time, and the people who worked so hard on the DC rally are probably exhausted. But, what if we just focus on an area where there are a LOT of us, and do a "no-frills" rally? Just get the police permits and show up. Our numbers will do the rest.

Actually it is normal that PD will go back in year end. So october it should move forward. I think from 2000 to 2003 H1 was increased to 195k and that made the situation worse. Otherwise general waiting time is 3 to 5 years for Eb3 and 1 to 3 years for eb2. In all visas H1,L1 and F1 Indians are topping every year and increase of 20%. And most of the H1s are coming through consultancy companies and successfully surviving here. Obiviously that made gc waiting time too much. Also in India skilled people are increasing because of outsourcing. Infosys is recruiting 25k people in this year alone. May be total 5 lakh to 1million high tech people will be added in India job market this year and that will grow in future. Around 50k to 1 lakh people are expected to come here for student visa this year. Most of them are interested in getting gc. May be around 2 lakh to 3 lakh people are interested to come to USA from India every year. Including families 1 million people are interested in coming to USA.Add other countries. I do not think that much job growth will be there in USA. Interest rates and inflation are going up. May be job growth may slow down. In that case USA govt will see if it is really useful to increase immigration. Of course they need exceptional people. But not lakhes of people every year. We are not seeing big job growth like dot com period. Also anti immigrants are having their own reasons for preventing immigration. I think everything will be stablized with eb3 waiting time 5 years and eb2 2 years in future as lot of people will lose interest

Can someone confirm if you can maintain accounts in the US after you leave. That sounds very dumb. I want US to keep my money and they don't want it?
I understand that after Patriot Act you can't open accounts in US without SSN but I think you should be able to keep your account because that SSN is assigned to you forever.
---
I am not sure about effect of patriot act, but some of my friends who left in 2002 era still have accounts here. Another friend left for Banglore but his 401K is still here.

It is terrible that AF treated its customer like a piece of Shi$. I have never flown nor shall ever fly in that crap airline.
I would like to suggest one thing here. We (Indians), mostly, and I dont mean to generalize here, don't bother to "WRITE" letters to the company to express our dissatisfaction or frustration. Partly to blame for this attitude is because of the system we grew up in India where even if you complain we don't get any response, mostly. The customer service is lacking. So, in that mind set we most often feel its the same with other countries.
But I strongly feel, sending a letter to express our outrage would definitely bring a positive change. The Govt. of India, should intervene but, lets not keep up the high hope, its not going to happen....they are all busy making money to buy land, home, comercial complex, marry their daughters and sons extravagantly and endless greed. So, realistically, the Indian Govt. is not going to intervene. Shame on them!!!
Moving forward, I strongly urge all the folks in this thread who had a bad experience to write to AF and vent out your frustration and pledge not to fly with them ever again, and those of us who heard this story, just send an a mail to express the shock and question if we could also face the same situation should we decide to fly in AF.
The poster who send a mail to AF with the "B" word, I applaud him. He even got a response!!! Wow!! that's the magic and strength of writing. Trust me it works. Just write to the airline, expressing or venting out your frustration. Just one line is enough, if you think its not worth the time.
I felt like writing this comment because I don't want to be discriminated or treated differently(badly) because of my ethnicity or color.
So, my friends, please go to this link (AF Suggestions page) and let them know your feelings.

When u already tolerate so much with US visa system , cant you take some more rudeness from our fellow contrymen?! Kidding.
I had similar experience at indian consulate!!
In fact a fellow indian wearing a turban tried to get into the consulate just before the consulate officially opens. The person inside (not the security) threatened him that he/she will call security and through him out!. Thats their attitude... They (at least think) belong to ruling class of india, so they behave like that?!
