Bolivian immigrant Jaime Escalante, the inspiration for the calculus teacher portrayed by Edward James Olmos in the film Stand and Deliver passed away yesterday at the age of 79. do you get a FP notice only if you file AP and EAD along with your 485 ?
FP is for 485. so even if you dont apply for AP or EAD, u should still get FP notice.

Supposed my I-485 was approved, am I legally required to go to USCIS, surrender my I-94 card and get a I-551 stamp? Could I just wait for GC to come in the mail?
The card is taking just a few days to arrive these days. Just wait for a few more days. You need the I-485 approval notice to get I-551 stamp.
But I'm sure you won't need it.

Hello,
Here is my situation :
1) Labor filed in EB3 in June 2004. The labor was filed in non-PERM and approved. I-140 was filed in Aug 2007 and it is approved in Dec 2008 with Priority date of June 2004
2) Labor filed in EB3 with same company in May 2006 through PERM. Got approved in 2 months and I-140 applied and approved within 12 months in April 2007. Priority date is May 2006. Applied for 485 in Aug 2007 and have EAD/AP based on it.
I am no longer with the company (quit after 180 days after 485 was applied) and am working for another company on H1B using AC21.
Question is, can I port priority date for 485 processing from May 2006 to June 2004 in my case where I have changed employer. Note that by time June 2004 I-140 is approved, I am no longer with that company.

Can i travel on my H1B and Advance parole (EAD) and maintain the same H1B when i come back to the US? I've heard rumors that I will be forced to use the EAD on arriving at the airport. Hence I will lose my H1B (They have been serving as backups to each other)
Here are some additional details:
- Currently working for a company as an employee on my H1B
- H1b doesn't have valid stamping (should i go that route and get that??)
- My 485 Pending. Priority date is Aug 2005 on EB3
- Indian Citizen but born in Africa (EB3 is Rest of the World)
- Have had my EAD for the past two years (havent used it).
- i switched over companies last year and ported the greencard process - AC21
- I have an expired Advance Parole i filed over an 1 1/2 years ago (never used it) and was planning on re-applying for it

Getting married or starting the PR process should not affect your company's L-1 extension petition.

<> For Mumbai appointment how long is it taking ? any idea ?
This tool is supposed to provide the earliest available appt. date:

But does not show any date after all info is entered.
<> They want some fees to be paid via HDFC bank .
Is there a way , I can do it sitting in USA ?

My H1 was approved for 3 years ie till 2012.
Due to problems at my work place, my H1 got revoked by my employer.
I'm in the medical profession, hence, jobs are few and far between if removed form a training program such as I was in. The next cycle of jobs dont start employment till July 2011.
I am currently within the 180 day limit.
What are my options? My countrys consulate is known to be tight fisted with visas, especially as I have overstayed since I lost my job abruptly.
If my fiance and I do get married, am I eligible for for adjustment of status?
Please help!
