Most of the employment related bills for skilled labor in the CIR were pretty much sponsored by Republicans.
I am wondering what kind of resistance, if at all, is the IV seeing in democratic controlled senate and congress seeing since these bills can be viewed as big business-supported or republican supported.
It would be good to get more democrats to sponsor these bills rathar just have them give lip service to our cause since they have the majority.

I have one white I 94 which you get at the port of last entry and three H1 I 94 (one original H1 I 94, two extention I 94s). The latest I 94 goes till 2010. Should I surrender all four I 94s or just the expired ones or just the white one.

Approximately 34,900 cases have been receipted by USCIS for the regular Bachelor's degree H-1B quota.
Approximately 13,000 cases have been receipted by USCIS for the advanced degree H-1B quota open to applicants who have earned Master's or higher degrees from US colleges and universities.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus has sent a letter to the President asking him to terminate the controversial 287(g) program that allows local police to enforce immigration laws on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security. The CHC expressed its concerns about allegations of serious civil rights violations against Hispanics as well as recent reports of poor oversight in the program. The National Council of La Raza, the country's largest Latino civil rights organization praised the letter.

bigboy007: As long as you have filled the form given by ASC officer and she has endorsed your FP notice, You are fine. ASC officer was right, single finger print will cover both of your applications. Just relax, I see no issues.

Hi,
Can we apply for a new EAD/AP after they expire?
If so, what is the difference b/w applying for an extension vs. a new one in terms of fees/documents/photos/etc.?
The reason being I already spent $1000 for EAD/AP last yr. but never used it, and now I have bear all H1 (extension) expenses as well as employer sucked all my blood & is after my limbs after 8 years of slavery. On top of that has stopped paying salary since April.
Hence I am trying to cut corners whenever wherever possible. Any responses or help greatly appreciated.

Our AP expires on August 30 and we don't have any plans to travel this year. We have only plans for next summer.
Do I still need to get my AP renewed now? or Can I start my renewal process in next spring?

Hello everyone,
My questions are about F1 to H1b change status.
I applied an H1b through a consultant company on April 2008. I received a notice from USCIS told me had been lottery H1b. However, until now my case is still pending. My OPT expired on Jan, 2009 and can't be extended. I am in the middle of the 60 days grace period right now. My questions are:
1. If the 60 days expire and my case is still pending, can I legally stay in US till H1b approved?
2. If my H1b is rejected and the 60 days expire, how many legally days can I stay in US? Do I have another 30 grace period days?
3. In my situation, what should I do right now? Do I need to find a school to keep my F1 visa? When is the best time to find a school?
4. Can I transfer H1b to another company during my H1b is pending?
I am very appreciate if you can answer these questions. :)

You should check the EB3 ROW (Rest of the world) date in the visa bulletin which is published every month - Visa Bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html)
The July bulletin shows the date as 15th Aug 2003. It's difficult to estimate when it'll get to July 2007 because the movement is not linear.

My H1B Visa stamp expires in Jan 08 but H1B Status expires Sept 08. Is it too early to get a new H1B stamp 4 months before expiration of the H1B stamp I currently have.
I am planning to go to Ottawa now for a stamp that expires in Sept 08.
